Paul grew up in Calabasas, California, and his club soccer team was Fram in Palos Verdes. Paul played collegiate soccer at UCLA, and later played professional soccer with both the Anaheim Splash and LA United.

All of Paul’s youth coaches inspired him, and he says he was very lucky to have incredible coaches with great knowledge about the game. Paul tries to take the best qualities of all of his youth coaches and implement those into his coaching philosophy. Paul’s greatest coaching inspiration was Sigi Schmid, his coach at UCLA, who later went on to be a top MLS coach.

In addition to coaching with MVLA, Paul is also the Head Coach for the Stanford women’s soccer team. Paul says that winning the National Championship as a player with UCLA and then later as a coach with Stanford are his favorite soccer memories.

Pau’s favorite part about coaching at MVLA is the people, saying we have amazing coaches and players and that it is a fun environment. Paul holds USSF A Coaching License.

Paul’s favorite team is Leeds United, and his favorite player is Johan Cruyff. Paul coaches his daughter’s team at MVLA.
