Evan grew up in South Lake Tahoe. While playing high school soccer for South Tahoe High School his team won a state championship. Evan played club soccer for Pachuca Academy in Mexico (U14 through U16), San Juan Academy, and Reno Jaguars Academy. Evan’s favorite soccer memory took place when he played his first Pachuca Academy U-14 game in Mexico inside the Estadio Hidalgo against Chivas. Evan scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory. He was the only American on the team at the time.
Evan played collegiate soccer at American River College for two years (they were ranked third in the state while he was there for the 2013/14 season) and then played for two years at Cal State East Bay where he was ranked fourth in the state for goals scored. Evan played semi professional soccer as part of the San Francisco Glens USL/PDL league.
Evan’s favorite part of coaching is giving back to the community and working with kids. He is so passionate about the game of soccer that if Evan is not playing he’s coaching. Evan has spent his entire coaching career at MVLA. He has his USSF C Coaching license.
Evan lists Paul Hansen, his coach at American River College, as the person who inspired him to continue his education and to become a coach just like him. Evan appreciated that his coach saw that he was a hard worker and someone who could go far in athletics and academics if he really wanted to.
Evan’s favorite teams are Barcelona and Chivas, and his favorite player of all time Ronaldinho. Evan is currently working on his masters in Kinesiology. He loves the gym and playing video games, and has five dogs.
