Esteban Sosa
Girls Technical Director, U12 and Younger
08G Inter White Head Coach
10G Juventus Blue Head Coach
15G Program Coach
Esteban was born in Queretaro, Mexico and later moved to the United States. Esteban lists winning State Cup with his club team (Mount Hamilton Inter) as his favorite soccer memory as a player. Esteban played collegiate soccer at West Valley College.
Esteban’s favorite part of coaching is seeing the work he’s put in at practice pay off in a game, anything from a specific skill that he’s worked on with his players to a team concept that is aimed towards the bigger game. Esteban really enjoys the relationship the coaches have with one another at MVLA. Being able to talk outside the field and also learn from each other is something he really cherishes about our club. Esteban holds the following soccer licenses: USSF F and E/D.
Esteban cites winning Surf Cup with his 2010G Blue team as his favorite coaching memory. MVLA’s Technical Director Albertin Montoya is the coach that most inspires Esteban to be a better coach. Esteban says that Albertin encourages him to keep educating himself and to continue learning the game to help develop MVLA’s youth. Esteban likes seeing how at MVLA every age he works with is different but yet he’s always teaching the players to achieve the same goals and learn the same MVLA philosophy. Esteban’s favorite team is FC Barcelona, and Lionel Messi is his favorite player.
Besides coaching Esteban enjoys playing soccer in both an adult league and an indoor league when time allows, and he likes staying active and working out. Esteban says spending time with his family is important so he does that as much as he can.
