Carlos grew up in Vallejo, California. Carlos played club soccer for the Vallejo Rowdies/ AGSS and played collegiate soccer at San Diego State University.

Carlos played for the El Salvador senior national team from 2002 to 2004, and then again 2007. Winning the Central America and Caribbean games in 2002 with the El Salvador Olympic team is his favorite soccer memory. Carlos played professional soccer in the El Salvador first division from 2001 until 2010.

Carlos finds that teaching young players the details of the game that he learned growing up, the competition side, is always fun and challenging. Carlos says that his father inspired him to coach by sharing so much information that helped mold his own coaching style and methodology. Carlos has also been an assistant coach for the San Diego State University and a program assistant for the Santa Clara University men’s soccer programs. Carlos holds a US Soccer A license.

Carlo’s favorite team is FC Barcelona, and his favorite player is Messi. When not coaching Carlos likes to spend time with his family.
