Alejandro Sosa Garcia

10B Atletico Nacional Blue Head Coach
10B Atletico Nacional White Head Coach
13B Leicester Green Head Coach

Alejandro was born in Mexico City where he played soccer for the Pumas UNAM youth academy. After moving to the United States Alejandro played collegiate soccer for West Valley Community College (where they were two-time conference champions during his time on the team).

Alejandro’s favorite soccer memory took place while representing Puma’s UNAM Queretaro in a U12 Central American tournament in Guadalajara, México. His team made it to the final four, losing against Club Chivas in the semifinal. Alejandro says getting the chance to play against the best players from Mexico and Central America during that time was a great experience.

Alejandro’s favorite part of coaching soccer is the reward he gets from helping players go through situations as they are constantly solving problems, not only on the pitch but also in life. Alejandro says seeing players overcome their fears and challenges is very rewarding.

Alejandro has coaching experience in all levels of youth development in Northern California. Most recently he was on the MLS Next coaching staff at the Silicon Valley Academy.

A coach who inspired Alejandro was his club coach Isais Bardales who always reminded his players that “life is not going to be easy just like the games we are going to play” and “you cannot control what other people do, but you can control what you do.”

Alejandro has two favorite soccer teams. He grew up watching Pumas UNAM in Mexico so they were his first favorite team. He later fell in love with Arsenal from the 2001 to 2006 era, so Pumas and Arsenal are his favorites.

His hobbies are of course playing fútbol since fútbol is his passion. Alejandro also likes spending time with his family, recording music, meditating, and philosophy.
